A music festival held in the early June in Ojai near Los Angeles. It was founded in 1947, the pioneering existence of the postwar music festival. In 1954, when composer Lawrence Morton (1904 – 1987) took over the festival as an artistic director, he switched to a course that is centered on the contemporary music festival.
After then, It was revealed to be an emphasis of Stravinsky, Copeland, Carter, Bellio, Boulez, Messian Composers gathered together, transformed into a transmission place of worldwide contemporary music, not just in the United States.
