ROME 〓 Andrea Obiso has been appointed concertmaster of the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia

Italian Violinist Andrea Obiso has been appointed concertmaster of the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. Obiso was born in 1994 in Palermo. He boasts a brilliant award, including the 2nd place in the 2017 International Musikwettbewerb der ARD in Munich, and has already performed with orchestras around the world.

After graduating from Bellini Conservatory, he was the youngest to enroll in the Chigiana Musical Academy in Siena, where he studied under Boris Belkin. Afterwards, he studied at the Curtis Institute of Music in the United States under Aaron Rosand. His instrument is the 1741 Guarneri del Gesu loaned by the Japanese NPO “Yellow Angel”.
