R.I.P 〓 Marcello Giordani, Italian Opera singer

Italian tenor Marcello Giordani passed away at the age of 56 on the 5th. He was active on the front lines singing dramatic roles. According to reports in Europe, it was caused by a heart attack. He felt sick at his home in Sicily Taormina and was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but was not in time.

Born in Augusta, Sicily, he sang in the choir from an early age and took private lessons. He once became a bank clerk, but again learned vocal music. Originally a baritone, his debut as a professional singer sang Rigoletto in 1986 at Spoleto’s “Festival dei Due Mondi”.

Then turned into tenor. In 1988, he sang Rodolfo of “La Boheme” and made his debut at Teatro alla Scala. In 1993, he sang Nemorino, debuted at the New York Metropolitan Opera, and performed more than 200 times there.
