DRESDEN 〓 Janowski to the chief conductor of Dresdner Philharmonie, the second call

Dresdner Philharmonie announced that Marek Janowski will be the principal conductor from 2019/20 season. He succeeded Michael Sanderling who has led the orchestra from 2011. Janowski has served as the chief conductor in 2001 and 2003, and is second to take over. Three years as a matter of courtesy.

Janowski was 79 years old, born in Warsaw in 1939. Father is Polish, mother is German. After serving as a music director for Freiburg and Dortmund opera, he has served as a music director in several orchestras. Orchester philharmonique de Radio France (1984-2000), Orchester Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo (2000-2005), Orchester de la Suisse Romande (2005-2012).
