Labor-management negotiations have been concluded at The Cleveland Orchestra in the United States—where a strike had been underway since September 23—and the final European tour with Music Director Franz Welser-Möst will proceed as scheduled, starting October 2.
According to U.S. reports, labor and management have agreed to annual pay raises of 5% over three years, with the base salary increasing from $165,516 to $191,620.
The European tour commemorates the 25th anniversary of Welser-Möst’s tenure as music director and marks his final year in the role. Spanning October 2 to 21, the tour includes 15 concerts across nine countries. The performances in Slovenia and Greece mark the orchestra’s debut in those countries.
