LUXEMBOURG 〓 Hungarian conductor Martin Rajna is named next music director of the Luxembourg Philharmonic

The Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra has announced that Hungarian conductor Martin Rajna will be its next music director. He will succeed Gustavo Gimeno, who has held the position since 2015, and will begin his term in the 2026/2027 season.

Rajna is only 29 years old. He studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar, Germany, and in 2023 he became the principal conductor of the Hungarian State Opera. He is also the principal conductor of the Hungarian Györ Philharmonic Orchestra, and is a rising star.
