Ludwigsburg is the city of Baden-Württemberg, about 12 km north of Stuttgart in southern Germany. The name of the city is due to the construction of the palace by Eberhard Ludwig of Württemberg in 1704.

In 1932, the music festival was set up in Ludwigsburg castle, and it is held from May to July every year. Initially it was mainly a chamber music concert, but now not only music such as chamber music, songs, opera, but also performances and dance performances are done.

In 1972, the music festival orchestra and the choir were established and played a central role. The palace theater in the castle, the room of knights, the chapel and the church are used as venues, as well as the concerts are held at neighboring castles and monasteries.

Meanwhile, there are many famous artists’ guest performances, such as Kurt Masur and the French National Orchestra, John Eliot Gardiner and English Baroque Soloists, Gidon Kremel and Kremerata Baltica, plus Anne-Sophie Mutter , Alfred Brendel, Sabine Meyer, Maxim Vengerov, Cecilia Bartoli and so on.
