Speaking of Parma, it is known to the world as “gastronomic city”. Raw ham “Prosciuto” and king of Italian cheese “Parmigiano Reggiano”, is well-known for its specialties. But for opera fans, Parma is the city of “King of Opera” Giuseppe Verdi. Verdi was born in 1813 in Busseto near Parma. The opera festival is hosted by the prestigious opera house “Teatro Regio”.
Festival was foundde in 1913 when it celebrated the centenary of Verdi’s birth. Festival had been held from May to June began to take place on October 10th, which is the birthday of Verdi from 2007 It was. Of course, the program is full of Verdi.
