On October 7, the British classical music magazine 《Gramophone》 held its annual awards ceremony—the Gramophone Classical Music Awards—at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. The “Recording of the Year” award went to the complete works of Louis Couperin performed by harpsichordist Jean Rondeau.
Established in 1977, the award recognizes recordings made during the preceding year and is considered one of the most prestigious honors in the classical music world. Winners are selected by a diverse group of figures from the music industry and broadcasting sectors, led by critics from 《Gramophone》 magazine. The “Orchestra of the Year” award is the sole exception; since 2018, it has been determined by a public vote held between July and September.
