About 3 hours being shaken by train from the capital Geneva. After arriving at the nearest station, Martigny, through the cities of Lausanne, known for the International Olympic Committee and ballet competitions, and Montreux, famous for the Jazz Festival. The festival was born in 1993. The original purpose was to create a “music camp” for young artists with the participation of global artists. The festival quickly became known worldwide, because global artists sympathized with the enthusiasm and became guest performer themselves. In 2000, the UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra (now the Verbier Festival Orchestra), formed by young people under the age of 30, was founded.
Since then, It has grown into a festival that has been supported by famous conductors such as James Levine, Zubin Mehta, and Charles Dutoit. When the music festival closes, a world tour is underway. Since 2018, they has been welcoming Valery Gergiev as the music director, aiming for further power-up. The guest artists are gorgeous, such as Martha Argerich, Evgeny Kissin, Wadem Repin and Yuri Bashmet.
