Siena, the ancient capital that has competed with Florence as a city of art, leaving behind the medieval aspect. It was in 1932 that Earl of Guido Chigi Saracini offered his own palace and founded the Conservatory. That is the Accademia Musicale Chigiana (Chigiana Musical Academy).

Every summer, master classes of vocal music, chamber music, instrumental music and conductor courses have been held every summer. That level is high and major artists such as Maurizio Pollini, Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Barenboim, Riccardo Chailly, and John Williams have studied in this summer seminar on young days.

Of course, the audition for admission is extremely fierce. In parallel with holding the academy, music festivals “Sienna music week” and “Sienna summer music” are held in succession.

The venue is a theater in the city, including the Lodge Theater. In addition to the concerts by luxurious faculty members, there are a variety of programs, such as concerts with young musicians learning at the Academy.
